On this past weekend’s show we had a special segment from our friend, DJ, producer, and tastemaker Karen P from London. She has been putting on an amazing live series called Broad Casting. The Broad Casting event juxtaposes artists and genres in ways you would never think would work. Artists such as Buraka Som Sistema to Tony Allen to Hypnotic Brass Ensemble to Jimi Tenor to Mulatu Astatke have performed.

Femi Kuti, the eldest son of the legendary Fela Kuti, is holding a remix competition for his song “You Better Ask Yourself” from his new album Day By Day. 

 

To take part to this contest, download the parts here (available till Monday, January 19th) and send your remix (mp3) to femikuti.remixcontest@gmail.com  before Sunday, February 15th. These elements are made available for the sole purpose of this remix contest, and may not be used in any other composition without prior agreement with the composer. The best remix will be chosen by Femi Kuti and his producer Sodi to feature next to other great remixes in a special CD & Vinyl limited edition!
