For all those quote “True Hip Hop Heads”, you won’t like it. But for those who know hip hop has no boundaries, this is for y’all. Snoop released a track called Snoop Dogg Millionaire. I didn’t think nothing much of it until I peeped it over at Mad Decent. My mouth dropped wide open! Snoop rapping over a sick Dubstep beat, and I mean SICK. The track was produced by Wild Animals and Chase & Status and it features Tanvi Shah academy award winning vocalist for “Jah Ho” of the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack. Peep it for yourself.

Let me say first I'm digging La Roux's music without the remix. She is signed to the French Label Kitsuné. She is bringing back the music from the 80's I liked (i.e. Prince, Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, etc.). She is also a 2009 BBC artist to watch.

When I got this song from 20 year old Brit La Roux remixed by dubstep posterchild Skream, I played it at least 15 times within a couple of hours. Let me say first I’m digging La Roux’s music without the remix. She is signed to the French Label Kitsuné. She is bringing back the music from the 80′s I liked (i.e. Prince, Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, etc.). She is also a 2009 BBC artist to watch. The original version of her song “In For A Kill” is real catchy (see video below).

by TinY-Prod

Then Skream took it and made it an haunting and chilling track. It is one of those tracks you listen to in the middle of night in the dark or while driving back from the club or bar at close time. It looks like Dubstep is trying to perk its head into the mainstream with this one. Listen for yourself.

Here in the lab we love all type of new music, but we have been feeling the dubstep sound thanks to my man Marcus from RadioMilwaukee. Cats like Skream and Benga are bringing the dubstep sound from the UK to stateside; however, there is another cat by the name of Subscape formerly Swerve that is creating some mesmerizing sh!t. Big ups to Fly Music for enlightening us on to him. Check out this tune Badman. I must have played it a least 6 times before I started to write this.
